Kind of sad that the last post I did was when Ashtyn turned one. She will be two in literally a month and a half. Time is flying!! We had a wonderful summer but definitely missed having dad come to Hawaii too. Hopefully next year he can make the trip….or he WILL make the trip or else;) Maya loved the beach and the pool, laying on a surfboard, playing at local playgrounds, and riding a double decker bus. Ashtyn took a week to warm up to the sand and water. However,Ashtyn loved the aquarium and embraced all the local food(I could never buy enough octopus for the kids). We also thoroughly enjoyed the shave ice….perhaps daily;)….My parents came out to Colorado for two months and it was glorious. The girls loved having popo and gung gung time and Maya was extremely sad when they left to head back to Oregon.
Maya-Getting SO BIG. She is obsessed with saying she is 38 when people ask her how old she is(it's brad's age)…I let her say it but tell her that that is how old she "likes" to be and to also tell people how old she really is…She is doing MYGYM classes and I love watching her in them. She loves to somersault, do the balance beam, and of course climb anything she can. They even do a little zipline in the class. She is still obsessed with dinosaurs and the other day I said "what dinosaur has spikes?" and she said "do you mean plates on the back? The stegosaurus has plates."..hmm this mama needs to go to the library and start studying more. My heart melts so much watching Maya interact with her lil sis. If we go somewhere she says "Baby sister, time to go!" in a very endearing way. And Ashtyn loves the attention she gets from her as well. I have been doing "mama school" with Maya and we just work through some preschool workbooks. I enjoy watching her count and understand lots of the preschool terms. I think she is going to be just fine with only one year of preK next year before she starts kindergarten. Maya really likes Umizoomi right now and I like how the show is constantly having the characters count and do patterns to solve things. She like Umizoomi so much she named our 3 goldfish milly, geo, and bot which are the characters from the show. However, we are already on geo #2 and bot #2 after about a week and a half. When Geo died, Maya saw him floating and then I heard her say"Milly!!! Stop eating Geo!!!"…circle of life explained by some goldfish….
Addy-Sweet lil baby. I can't believe she will be 2 next month. She is definitely not a baby anymore. She is constantly telling me things and using 2-3 words. It's a huge improvement because before she just labeled things. I love how she remembers what happens during our day and tries to tell dad when he gets home. She literally says "poop! grass!" almost every day. It's from the one time I freaked out and saw dog poop on our front lawn(btw we don't own a dog). She feels the need to tell everyone about that upsetting incident. She loves being outdoors and always wants to be pushed on her little tricycle. She tries to keep up with the big kids a lot and ends up with skinned knees. That is the worse thing to see when your lil one is running and just falls so hard. Poor kiddo! Ash is still in her crib. For awhile after Hawaii I was debating on transitioning her out of it, but the crib just makes things so easy. She doesn't seem to complain now and knows the routine. She still has her pacifier and I dread the day we commit to taking it away from her. Can I make Brad be in charge of doing that?! Even when we run errands I will make her leave it in the car and sometimes in the store we will have major breakdowns because "buggy" isn't around. She calls Maya "Mai Mai" and "sissy"…Her little voice is so cute. She is a huge animal lover and her favorite show is "Go Diego Go". Diego always pauses and asks questions and it's so funny to hear her answer the questions. She really listens to what the animals do and what they eat and where they live. She loves cuddling and having us read books to her. It's one of my favorite things.
Hope this lil update is enough to last another whole year:) jk..hopefully I'll be better with posting on the blog. For pics just find me on instagram(cvering) because that's where I like to put pics of the kiddos instead of Facebook so much.
Please keep blogging!
