We have really been enjoying all this family time with popo and gungie and aunty roo...I am really wishing we were closer to family because it will be hard adjusting back once they leave. It is quite a luxury to run errands by myself and just be able to have instant babysitters without needing to give more than five minutes notice..my mom has also been cooking dinners and this tired mama has been so thankful!

the day has come..
My child will now smile on command...it is funny because I prompted her by saying show your teeth so this is what she looks like:
And this is what she asks for about twice a day.....to play in the car....goodness...

bandaids
For my face! And one for my leg.....I had to get two moles checked out and came home with bandaids...maya noticed right away and now I get random kisses on my "owies"...I freaking love having a kid and this is reason number three thousand that Maya makes me smile...

for hire
my dad said he was doing pullups and every time he would stop Maya would say in her little voice "more"...if you could hear the voice you would die laughing..it is so soft and cute and irresistible...then,today I did some lunges and every time I stopped she would say "more" as well...it really was intriguing to her because I never do lunges..hahaha..I am glad she isn't my trainer or I would still be outside doing them..
Maya's very first....
SLEEPOVER!!!!! Well, she was only 2 minutes away at my parent's condo but still it was a big deal:) We thought we would do a trial run to see if she would freak out or be okay before we actually do an overnight trip in Vail(2 hrs away)...Little girl got to bring all her fave bedtime things(blankie, hippy, books) over to popo and gungie's and didn't even miss a beat. It was a relief to me that she felt comfortable enough over at their place to fall asleep. Brad and I decided on a movie for our big treat that night. I still missed her a ton and wanted to go pick her up..I also ended up not sleeping well at all since I was so anxious about the whole experience. But, now that I know she was happy and totally cool with the sleep over, I won't be so nervous at the end of July:)))

such a monkey
Maya loves hanging on things...she must have a grip like dad cuz thankfully she hasn't fallen yet....she is also quite the monkey because some days she will nap and other days she will stay in her room for quiet time for an hour and a half but never fall asleep...I can't figure her out..and now at night I am offended because I will start singing a lullaby and she will shake her head no..I have always known I was tone deaf but I had hopes my child would like my singing...
Her nap area of choice this afternoon...only one other time have I found her asleep on the floor

Estes Park
Estes adventure day one: Maya slept almost the whole ride up(already a good start for mama:)...we got to town, did some shopping, saw fish swimming at the Riverwalk, ice cream, and threw rocks into the river while dad fished....he caught some right in front of us to Maya' s delight..ended up with dinner at 830 and going to bed at 930...long day of fun!
Day two: planned on doing a 3.5 mile hike to fern lake but we made it about a mile and a half and turned around...apparently Maya thinks the Kelty backpack carrier is worse than her carseat so after screaming "mama down" in my ear right from the start we hiked the rest of the time with me holding her and switching hips...being prego and doing that was a bit rough..and she wanted to walk at times too which meant we were going nowhere fast..change of plans and we stopped and watched papa fish some more...and threw more rocks...that made her very very happy again....btw since I thought we would be so far from the car the whole day we packed a hiking backpack full of snacks and drinks and brad said I might as well have put a 50lb weight in it..oops..the funny thing is carrying Maya ended up being lighter and the original plan was that brad would carry mai and I would do the food....
Drove around the park more and saw bear lake where we could push Maya in a stroller around it...now that is my kind of hiking..hahahha
saw some elk in the evening:
Day three: went to Sprague lake which also was stroller friendly and Maya made some buddies who loved her dropping and later throwing her chips at them...we found another open spot by a river and played there until it was time to head home...maya napped all the way until castle rock so we had a 45 min drive left...she did great and when we got home popo and gung gung were waiting for us! Such a treat!
maya's fave things: the moose head at the hotel, seeing "buddies"(any wildlife), throwing rocks in the water, begging to go back to the car to play in it(really?!), late night bed times, playing in the streams, her new hat
mom's fave things: only getting one mosquito bite
dad's fave things: fishing, the scenery, finally getting a little vacay
