sentimental sunday...

Well munchkin has been keeping me busy and baby vering has been kicking a ton....I can't wait until Maya can feel the kicks...for now these kisses are pretty sweet:

We also tried a ponytail but that lasted one minute..and I am no longer in denial that Maya has a mullet..I couldn't get enough hair on top for a ponytail but it's so long at the bottom...

So I was checking Maya' s quiet book to make sure all the pieces were there and this is what I found:

We have a nice routine now of books and snuggles...however, it takes 45 min from getting into bed until Maya is fast asleep..which also means soon it is 8pm...the other funny thing is I will hear "mom...mama...mom...mom...mama.."  for a good 20 min when I pretend to be sleeping..sometimes I answer,other times I don't...it makes me laugh though because she uses different intonations and is literally like a broken record....

I do enjoy our bedtime routine though because soon so much will change...

We visited my friend and her week old baby..She was only 5.5 lbs and such a sweet pea:)I got to hold her and that is when Maya flipped out.Huge tears and not even daddy could console her....My Oh My!!!!! We must need a lot more baby time to prepare for October...

The current black forest fire is north of us and it is so sad watching the news and seeing that homes have been lost.Praying for the safety of responders and that this fire will be contained soon!!

We took Maya to the zoo and that just wiped me out for the rest of the day.But lil girl loved seeing the animals as always...

Sentimental Sunday

Sometimes, I sneak into Mai's room and sleep on the bed with her(i lovvve her snuggles)...as a result, I will wake up with her in the morning and see this head right in front of my face or turned sideways if I'm laying on my side. Once she spots one of my eyes open, she signs "eat" and says "mama"so there is no more sleeping in for me......

For nap time, I will lay with her for a few minutes and she will take my hand and put her hippo in it...then snatch it back...other times she will offer me her hippo and before i can touch it she pulls him back..sharing isn't quite a priority yet...

newest word of the month: "mom-ice"....translation: mom i'm really frustrated and need something or you need to hold me now...this word is most often heard in the mornings if i tell her dad will go and make her breakfast or in the car while we are driving...
